Today we’re going back to wedding cards. I’ve got two for you . . . both made from the same stamp set and coordinating die but in different color ways and with different backgrounds.
For today’s cards, I used Unity’s “Forever Starts Today” stamp set and the coordinating image die. When I use a coordinating die, I use Whitney Magnuson’s technique . . . cut the image first, use a stamp platform to stamp the image on scratch paper, then fit the negative cut from the die around that stamped image, and then put the positive cut image into the negative and stamp the image on the die cut.

I stamped two images while I had my MISTI set up for this image. The first image I stamped with VersaFine Clair pigment ink in “Nocturn” and the second image in VersaFine Clair pigment ink in “Morning Mist.”

Morning Mist
I pulled out Unity’s “8 in 1 Essential Masking Stencil” that originally came in the December 2022 Whit Kit but is now available on the website for purchase separately. I decided with the size of the image, the rectangle and the oval shapes would work best.
I started with the rectangle and used the new “Lavender Kisses” dye ink from 49 and Market to fill in the rectangle shape. Since this dye ink is water reactive, I added some water to create a little texture on the panel.

I found a lavender card base in my stash that matches perfectly and glued the panel to the base.

I stamped one of the set’s sentiments directly on the panel, and then position the cut out below it, popping up the couple with foam tape.

For the couple stamped in Nocturn ink, I chose the oval shape and filled it in with the new “Mint Chill” dye ink from 49 and Market. The panel needed a little something more since there was a lot of white space around the oval. Remember that I dug through to find love text backgrounds . . . for this one I used Unity’s “Love Story” background stamp and stamped it in “Twilight” ink from Catherine Pooler.

I found a dark mint green card base and coordinates well enough with the panel and glued the panel on the front. Popped the couple up on foam tape and positioned them toward the bottom of the oval, with the bride’s dress dipping outside the oval.

I love how both of these cards turned out . . . simple yet still elegant.
Be sure to leave a comment for a chance to win one of two gifts from Unity that I have to give away this week. Each gift is $20 in store credit on the Unity Stamp Company website. I will be drawing two names using a random picker at the end of the week from those who comment.

Both of these cards are lovely! This is my very favorite wedding stamp.
Two very pretty cards! I need to use Morning Mist more often. It really gives a softer look. And…I should put that stencil to more use. Thanks for the inspiration!
