Day 5 – Growing in Unity 2023

Gift Tag Day

Well, here we are at Day 5. The weeks just keep going by faster and faster. Christmas is going to be here before we know it.

Today, I’ve got a set of gift tags for you. Once again, Unity Stamp Company has everything needed to make these tags. I used Unity’s “Make a Tag” die set to create my tags. I used the smaller two tags – the scallop one to make the red base and the other to make the white nested tag for the back.

I stamped the “To” and “From” out of Unity’s “Holly Jolly Holiday” set (which would also make a great set of gift tags) and then glued the white tag onto the back of the red scalloped tags.

To decorate the front of my tags, I used Unity’s “Sweet Treat Christmas” set. I stamped each image out in Gina K Design’s Black Amalgam ink and then used my Brother Scan n Cut to make cutting them out easy.

I colored these using my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers, doing my best to make them look like frosted sugar (EB1) and gingerbread (RB2) cookies. I “frosted” the cookies with alcohol inks and added a little Gold Wink of Stella to some of them for a little sparkle. I added the colored images to the front of the tags, punched a quick hole, and added baker’s twine from my stash.

I had fun this week creating and finally using some sets that I’ve had for a while but never got inked until now. Be sure to go get inky with your unused stamp sets!!

I hope this week inspires you to get started on your own holiday cards. Be sure to leave a comment each day for a chance to win one of two prizes from Unity that I have to give away this week.
