Day 4 – Growing in Unity 2023

Mini Slimline Weenies

There is nothing like a Weenie dog. I speak from experience . . . my best boy is a Weenie. My husband says that he is the smallest dog we’ve had with the biggest personality. It is definitely true. We got Chewie as soon as he was big enough to leave his momma about 7 1/2 years ago.

Digging through my un-inked Christmas stamps, I found Unity Stamp Company’s “Whit’s Weenies” that I just had to have as soon as it was released. So what kind of card works best for weenies . . . why a slimline of course. For these little weenies, a mini slimline works great. I started with a 6 x 6 square card base and scored it at 3 inches.

I stamped the weenies in Gina K Black Amalgam ink, cut them out with my Brother Scan n Cut machine, and then colored them up with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers. I even did my best to make a dappled weenie like my Chewie boy. You’ll have to wait just a minute for the colored pics since apparently I forgot to snap a pic before I adhered them to the card base.

One of the things I really love about Unity Stamp Company is their attention to detail. “Whit’s Weenies” includes a little stamp that represents snow hills and a little Christmas tree. I stamped the hills a few times directly on my white card base to ground a couple of the weenies. I also stamped the little Christmas tree directly on my card base and colored in the star with Gold Wink of Stella. I glued two of the weenies down directly on the card base and then popped up my little dapple guy with foam tape.

Both sentiments (front and inside) are in the “Whit’s Weenies” set.

I hope this week inspires you to get started on your own holiday cards. Be sure to leave a comment each day for a chance to win one of two prizes from Unity that I have to give away this week.

of any size! I’ve never owned a dog, but we had family friends
who had one I remember named Poncho. Very friendly!
