Day 3 – Growing in Unity 2024

Middle of the week all ready . . . I can’t believe it. Today I’ve got some cute bunny hearts for you.

The first one is a little blue, but he’s super cute. I used the largest scalloped heart from Unity Stamp Company’s Dashes and Frills Hearts dies set. I stamped the bunny from Itty Bitty set “You’ve Got Heart” inside the heart using Gina K Designs Amalgam Jet Black Ink (the link is to Obsidian Amalgam Ink as that is the current black amalgam ink).

I colored up the bunny using Prismacolor Pencils and also grounded the bunny with a little dark gray pencil.

At this point, my bunny sat and waited a bit. When I came back to him, I decided that the grounding wasn’t quite enough so I filled that in a bit more and then ink blended a bit of Tumbled Glass Distress Ink around the outside of the heart. (And of course I forgot to snap a picture at this step.)

Next, I decided on a piece of blue striped paper from Unity’s Americana Vibes paper pack. I cut it down to 4 x 5 1/4 and glued it to a white card base. Added my bunny heart and popped up the “You’ve got heart” sentiment with some foam tape to complete the card.

My second bunny heart card today starts with the largest heart from Unity’s Stitched Up Heart die set and Itty Bitty set “Lil’ Bunny Wishes” stamped in Gina K Designs Amalgam Jet Black Ink (the link is to Obsidian Amalgam Ink as that is the current black amalgam ink).

I colored this sweet bunny up with Prismacolor pencils and was pleasantly surprised how much it looked like a worn velvet bunny.

I chose a piece of plaid paper from Unity’s Gilded Harvest Plaid paper pack and found a turquoise card base that really helped the plaid pop. I used the sentiment from Lil’ Bunny Wishes.

I decided the white heart was just too stark so I took down the white using Simon Hurley Cookie Dough Ink. I then darkened the edge a little more with Vintage Photo Distress Ink, which highlighted the stitching detail even more.

Be sure to leave a comment for a chance to win one of two gifts from Unity that I have to give away this week. Each gift is $20 in store credit on the Unity Stamp Company website. I will be drawing two names using a random picker at the end of the week from those who comment.

  1. So cute!❤️ You are doing a wonderful job of showcasing the bunnies. I don’t think I ever remember seeing the first one ( You’ve got heart) before! 😊

  2. Super cute cards! I’m enjoying getting a look at the Unity papers since I don’t have any.

  3. I’m enjoying all the different bunny stamps you have! These two cards are adorable! I love looking at my Gilded Harvest paper. Guess I’d better get busy and use it now that I have inspiration.

  4. Love your coloring! I don’t think I’ve seen either of these cuties. Love the idea of this bunny parade this week.
