Day 1 – Growing in Unity 2024

Welcome to Day 1! This week I’m loving bunnies. Well, I love bunnies all the time and have since I was tiny, but I’m going to showcase wonderful Unity Stamp Company bunnies this week. I’m also going to bring you two cards each day.

Let’s start with a couple adorable “thinking of you” stamp sets. For each of today’s cards, I used Unity’s Untamed Meadow paper pack for the background papers and the largest circle from Unity’s Scallops & Circles Nesting Dies for my focal images. I stamped both images in Gina K Designs Chocolate Truffle Amalgam Ink because at the time I stamped the images I wasn’t sure what medium I would use to color the images.

My first card has this adorable little bunny smelling the flowers. The set is Whiskers and Wings.

This finely detailed stamp is so detailed I didn’t feel the need color the entire image. I simply chose to spotlight color the butterfly and the open flowers. I used Prismacolor Pencils to color these. To cut the harshness of the white card, I used Simon Hurley Cookie Dough Ink over almost the entire circle. You can see the white highlight still in the very center. I then darkened the edge a little more with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

For my second card, I used the Hug a Bunny set. This set has an adorable lop-eared bunny that looks like he’s munching on a flower.

This set has more open areas so I went ahead and colored the whole image with Prismacolor Pencils.

I also went back to Simon Hurley Cookie Dough Ink to take down the harsh white. This time I did not add the Vintage Photo.

I glued my chosen backgrounds from the Untamed Meadow paper pack on kraft card bases and glued my focal images down. I used sentiments that came with each image and popped those up with foam tape for a little dimension to finish off each card.

  10. I love bunnies! These are so cute! We are currently feeding a wild baby cottontail that is living on the side of the house, right outside my son’s window. 😊

  12. These are great cards! I collect bunnies, too! So far, I haven’t brought myself to use the Untamed Meadow paper – it’s so pretty. Now I’m inspired.

  18. Love your sweet bunnies with the minimal coloring!!💛🧡 The background paper you paired them with is perfect !! ( It’s nice to see that Untamed meadow paper is as pretty as I thought… definitely going on my to buy list.😊)
