In March, our chosen technique was Pop-Up Cards. I chose the Congratulations category as my theme, and specifically congratulations on a new baby. As I tend to do, I agonized and over analyzed the whole process. I took instruction and inspiration for the mechanism of the pop-up from watching Jennifer McGuire videos on YouTube. She is definitely a wealth of knowledge.
I used Unity Stamp Company’s Criss Cross Hearts background stamp, and stamped it in VersaMark ink and used white embossing powder. I then used a soft green Distress Ink and ink blended over the heat embossed background.
Next I worked on my pop-up image. I used Unity Stamp Company’s New to the Crew set, stamping the onesie twice so that my pop-up would have a finished image on the front and the back. I stamped the “Bundle of Joy” sentiment from the kit on the front of the onesie and colored in the accent on the banding of the onesie for both sides.
Next I cut out an oval for the front of the card from Gina K Designs Master Layout 1 and stamped a congratulations sentiment from Gina K Designs Reasons to Celebrate.
And the final product turned out even better than I imagined!
Lovely card!
Great ink blended background! Great color! Love the pop up too!
Hi Holly!
This is just adorable and that little onesie couldn’t be cuter.
Love that Unity background, and it’s perfect for a baby card.
I have a different type of blog, but if you need help figuring something out, let me know.
We need to schedule a play date too 🙂
