Day 5 – Growing in Unity 2024

OH MY GOODNESS . . . I can’t believe how fast these five days have flown by. Our final two bunnies bring us love.

Card No. 1 could be a Valentine’s Day card or just an any-day “I love you” card.

I started out with Unity Stamp Company’s Postage Stamp nesting dies that originally came in the February 2022 Whit Kit and are now available to everyone. I used the second largest die to cut out my focal image panel. I used the adorable bunnies in Unity’s “P.S. I Love You” stamp set using Gina K Designs Amalgam Jet Black Ink (the link is to Obsidian Amalgam Ink as that is the current black amalgam ink).

Once again, I chose to just spotlight color with Prismacolor pencils so that the image could really speak for itself.

I stamped the sentiment and set it aside for a bit while I worked on other cards for this week. After letting it sit for a while, I grabbed a red background paper with tiny white dots from Unity’s Whimsy Hearts paper pack, originally from the January 2024 Whit Kit, and cut it to 4 x 5 1/4 and layered it on a white card base.

Card No. 2 today starts with the largest of Unity’s Scallops & Arches nesting dies and the image from Unity’s “Easy to Love” stamp set.

With what I had in mind to do with this scene, I also stamped the image on a piece of Gina K. Designs Masking Magic so that I could mask the image before stenciling a sky using Unity’s Cloud & Wave Stencil using Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.

Next I colored up the image itself using Prismacolor Pencils, and forgot to take a picture of it. I dug through my Unity paper packs and found the Eternal Midnight Weave paper pack, which appears to be a Halloween paper pack but I found a harlequin print that really makes my image pop. I cut my panel to 4 1/2 x 5 1/4 to cover my entire card front.

The sentiment is from the Easy to Love stamp set.

Be sure to leave a comment for a chance to win one of two gifts from Unity that I have to give away this week. Each gift is $20 in store credit on the Unity Stamp Company website. I will be drawing two names using a random picker at the end of the week from those who comment.
