This month our sketch is another “tall & skinny” card from Mojo Monday, brought to us through Pinterest. I chose “elegant” as my style and “sympathy” for my theme.

I started with a 6 x 6 white card base scored at 3 inches to make a mini slimline card. I then chose some coordinating pieces of cardstock from the “Silver Leaf” paper pack from DCWV that I have in my vast paper closet. I went with gray tones as a way to soften the harshness of back for a sympathy card. As you’ll see, I did use black as accents on the card.
I started cutting my layering pieces with the circle element. I used the larger stitched circle die from Gina K Designs’ Master Layouts 3. I then cut my layering cardstock to 2 1/2 x 5 1/2 for the large mat, 1 1/2 x 3 for the horizontal piece, and then a 1/4 x 3 strip out of black cardstock for the smallest layer element. I used a flower die from an old Spellbinder card kit for the floral element.
I stamped my outside sentiment from Unity Stamp Company’s January 2023 Kit of the Month “Bloom and Evolve” on the circle element.

Before I started gluing all my layers down, I stamped the inside sentiment from Unity Stamp Company’s June 2022 Kit of the Month “My Heart Is With You.“

Next I just layered up the front elements. As a final touch, I added a black, flat-backed gem to the center of the flowers and popped the flower up with a pop-dot for a little dimension.

I hope you enjoyed seeing my process.
