Our final sketch for this swap round is from Mojo Monday (again found through Pinterest). I chose “Vintage” as my style and “Christmas” for my theme. When I originally saw this sketch, I envisioned a Santa face in that circle. Well the specific Santa face I was envisioning was too big for the circle, and I didn’t have any others that spoke to me. So I changed up what I put in the circle and it worked out well.
I went to my paper closet and pulled the Recollections “Peppermint Stripe” paper pad from my Christmas paper pile. When I have multiple elements on the card, I love using the same paper pack because I know the papers are all designed to work together. This paper pack did not disappoint. I chose my background, rectangle element, and large flag element from papers in the paper pack
I knew I wanted a Vintage card so I pulled out Kraft card bases and cut my circle element out of the same Kraft card. I used Unity Stamp Company’s Scallops and Circles Nesting Dies to cut my circle.
The background and the rectangle element were too white for the vintage look I wanted. So, Distress Ink Vintage Photo to the rescue! Using a blending brush to ink all over the paper really knocked back the white and got the look I wanted.
Next I stamped out my sentiments (inside and out) using Versafine Claire Pinecone ink. The outside sentiment is from Unity Stamp Company’s “Let’s Be Jolly” set. It was perfect for the circle element.
The inside sentiment is from Unity Stamp Company’s November 2022 Kit of the Month “A Season for Santa.”
Next I assembled all of the elements, including using a bit of thin washi tape from my stash for the second “banner” element, bringing in a bit of a vintage dark green to finish off this Christmas card.
