June’s sketch came to us through Pinterest once again. This sketch appears to have come from the Sisters in Stamping blog by way of the Unforgettable Stamping blog. But who knows where it really started from . . . I’m just glad I found it.
I chose “shabby chic” as my style for this month and “thank you” for my theme. I started out with a kraft card base (Recollections 110 lbs from Michaels) and started building my layers from there, using scrapbook paper from my stash.
I chose a pretty turquoise distressed wood with pink flowers and cut my triangle panels.
I used the Tim Holtz Stacked Deckle die set from Sizzix to cut my sentiment panel. I used the “middle” size (third largest or third smallest – depending on how you look at it) to cut the panel out of kraft cardstock. I used Gina K Designs “Lettered and Lovely” stamp set to stamp the “thank you” sentiment on the kraft panel. (From a search of Gina’s website, It appears this stamp set may be retired.} I used Versafine Clair ink in Pinecone to stamp the sentiment. I love the rich brown on kraft cardstock.
I really love how the final card turned out. It is very simple, but the beginning sketch was simple. The pop of turquoise paper really plays well between the layers of kraft cardstock.
