Vintage Christmas
As I dug through my un-inked Christmas sets, I decided I should try to maximize some of the cards I make this week by using as many un-inked sets as possible. Today’s card uses three such sets. I always love the vintage look of kraft cardstock so I knew at least of my cards this week would have a vintage feel. I used a cream colored card base to softened the look of the card base rather than a stark white base.
I started by using Unity Stamp Company’s “A Little Christmas Carol” background stamp inked with Versafine Clair Pinecone ink. Next I trimmed it down using the largest die in Unity’s Deckle & Stitches Nesting Dies set.
I stamped my focal image using Unity’s Holly Time set. I stamped it on kraft cardstock with Versafine Clair Pinecone ink and then colored it with Prismacolor Colored Pencils. I colored the berries with Crimson Lake, Crimson Red, and Scarlet Lake, and the leaves with Olive Green, Prussian Green, and Grass Green. I fussy cut the holly out (without too much cussing) and added foam tape to the back.
I also stamped the “Merry Christmas” from Unity’s Holly Time set in both Versafine Clair Pinecone ink and Versafine Clair Glamorous ink, so I had options.
I used Unity’s “Magic of Christmas” (November 2014 Sentiment Kit) for my inside sentiment and stamped it in Versafine Clair Pinecone ink.
Before assembling the card, I decided the background needed a little something else. So out came Vintage Photo Distress Ink to add that little something extra. I made my decision on the “Merry Christmas” and then finally assembled the front of the card. I hope you like it!
I hope this week inspires you to get started on your own holiday cards. Be sure to leave a comment each day for a chance to win one of two prizes from Unity that I have to give away this week.

You have amazing skills with those colored pencils. I love the holly and berries. I guess that I need to use mine more frequently.
