Simply Swap It – October 2022

Starting off this month’s swap card with a sketch (as a quick reminder, our group chose to do sketch cards this round), but I hadn’t picked my style or theme. As the month moved forward, I needed to make some baby cards (lots of new bundles of joy entering the world this fall and winter), so I decided to make my swap cards baby cards this month. Now all three sets of parents chose “woodland animals” or “woodland” as the theme for their baby’s room (apparently this theme is trending this year), so I chose our “nature” style for this month – seemed fitting.

I started out with our sketch from the month that I originally found on Pinterest.

I bought “woodland animal” themed paper for a project for one of these babies (yet to be started) and selected papers from that pack to use as my card panels.

For my 3 x 4 1/4 sized panel, I used a old Spellbinders heart embossing folder I have in my stash to add some dimension to the panel. I then inked the panel in Vintage Photo Distress Ink to further further enhance the panel.

Gina K Designs recently launched the cutest little woodland creatures stamp set called Beautiful Forest, and of course I had to have it in order to make my own ephemera for my pending baby project. So of course I had to get the coordinating dies as well to make things easier. Using the sweet bunny from this set I stamped a focal image to stick on my floral circle element. I stamped this little guy in Gina K. Designs Chocolate Truffle Amalgam Ink and then did a very quick coloring with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers in MB1 and a quick tough of FS6 inside his ears and for his nose.

I stamped the sentiments in Versafine Clair Pinecone ink. I used Unity Stamp Company’s set Finally Here for the “welcome baby” sentiment on the outside of the card. I used an old Stampin’ Up set called “A New Little Someone” for the inside sentiment.

The final card turned out super cute. Hope you find it as adorable as I do!
