It’s Been A While . . .

It’s been too long since I’ve been on here and sharing what I’m creating. Don’t doubt that I’ve been creating . . . because I have been. I’ve just been very lax about showing you anything (whether it is an old creation or a new creation).

Well, it’s time for that to stop! So, let’s dip back into the card vault and show off an old one while I work on getting some new ones ready for “show and tell” time!

Here is one of my all time favorites . . . the Father’s Day card I made for my Dad last year. I used an old state map for my background, and distressed it a bit with Distress Ink in either Antique Linen or Photo Paper (I really can’t remember which one at this point). I matched Route 66 on the front and back so I ended up with a little gap at the top on the front; hence the wood grain paper border.

I water colored the Arizona sunset, ground, and car (Unity Stamp Company’s All Cylinders) using various Distress Inks. And to top it all off, I completely surprised myself by free-hand drawing and then coloring a saguaro cactus that actually turned out pretty good.

Once all the creating was done, I drove about 2 1/2 hours up the mountain in less than ideal visibility to deliver it in person to him. (He’s a campground host during the summer months.) He loved the card and the surprise visit.
